It does look like its previous owner has cut a sliver off the left edge, just about the amount that folds over on the 2 piece metal design of the early Missouri plates. It has a little of its original paint left. 1911 Missouri did not have a very stable paint, and just about all are missing a lot of their paint. Otherwise the other flaws are not too bad with some flattening of the numbers, roughness around the top bolt holes, and some bending in the top layer of metal. The back still looks pretty flat.
