A 1949 Singer 99K Sewing Machine from Great Britain with a Canadian Motor, serial number EK 767883.
This machine runs beautifully and the motor hums. It's been cleaned and oiled, not professionally. The weight is approximately 22 pounds.
This particular machine was made in Kilbowie, Scotland.
It's likely a 99K10 because it has an aluminum needle plate cover instead of iron or steel.

The 99K is really considered a 3/4 size Singer rather than a featherweight. It's much sturdier and really hard to break so it's great for teaching people to sew.
Built like a tank, at 22 pounds it doesn't slide around on the table like the lighter models so it's a good machine for the kids. It's almost impossible to break this machine and what breaks can be easily fixed.

I have the base for this machine and I've included a photograph of it. It smells somewhat moldy so we're in the process of trying to eliminate that. There's no mold on it, so you could paint it with a sealing paint. You could paint it to match your sewing room or maybe drop it into another table for a totally different look, there's lots of choices.

The Singer 99K uses low shank attachments. These are very common and can be easily purchased online or sewing stores and it can also be converted from electric to hand crank.
This machine is missing the spindle for the thread. I'll try to find one in my sewing room and include it. I'm sure it can be replaced easily.
