ANTIQUE ENGLISH PEWTER 11 INCH DIA FOOTED ICE BASIN, CIRCA 1790, H & R JOSEPH, LONDON

Antique English pewter 11.0 in diameter footed basin, circa 1790. By Henry & Richard Joseph, who worked in London from 1787.

The basin stands 5.75 inches high and has an impressive flared foot, this was probably a basin used to hold ice and keep food chilled whilst being served. The rim is decorated with 3 incised bands.

There is a clear maker’s touch mark to the underside.

The condition is very good with a polished silver grey finish to all surfaces.
