It needs a service and new ribbon but I see no reason why with some care it could be returned to working order. I haven't done much more than clean off the dust and cobwebs, but just a few squirts of WD40 got the carriage from seized up completely to just about running smoothly and the space bar works some of the time now too. I have brushed off any loose rust underneath but it could easily be given a rust treatment. The lettering is worn off in places but still clear enough to read and some beeswax would shine up the lettering and enamel paint. Please remember it is over 100 years old though and has been used. Please look at ALL the photos. (Many more pics available on request.)”
