It doesn't have plastic threads. The knob is made from a real billiard ball. The material is more of a really hard resin, similar or possibly the same as a bowling ball. Regardless, I hope it holds up too!

Looks sick in my Jeep the oem pos plastic broke so this is definitely an improvement. Who knew Jeep doesn’t even have threads on the shifter knob?the inserts didn’t work for me and crumbled upon installing. Luckily I had some 3/0 awg wire laying around than it fit properly.
