Excellent condition vintage 70's Bjorn Weckstrom sterling silver long chain necklace with pendant. Marked Sterling on the chain, and 9.25 with makers mark on the pendant.
Copyright 1973-74 Chain is 29-1/2 inches long overall. Modernist period, incredibly rare. Very dramatic
Pendant is 1 and 3/4 inches long and has acrylic purple piece encased in a sterling silver design.

Björn Weckström is a Finnish sculptor and jewellery designer, who has
worked for Lapponia Jewelry since 1963.
In the 1960s there was a radical movement to liberate society--to have
the freedom to express one's self. Designers were communicating this
freedom through their creations; the strongest movement coming from the
Scandinavian countries. The gold nuggets that Björn Weckström found in
Lapland in the early 1960s were the start of an entirely new jewellery
design, a design inspired by nature. A forerunner in his field, the
artist breaks the traditional concepts of jewellery design by boldly
combining different materials. Weckström is playing with natural forms,
uncut gems and broken uneven surfaces, keeping as close to nature as
