Seller notes: “A fine quality Victorian 18ct Gold Signet Ring, which dates to 1891 and is set with a Carnelian in ... “A fine quality Victorian 18ct Gold Signet Ring, which dates to 1891 and is set with a Carnelian in an octagonal rubover setting (please study the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of the ring's description).The Carnelian set into the octagonal bezel of this wonderful antique Ring has superb colour and measures approximately 9mm by 8mm; as shown, it has not been engraved or personalised. The ring is stamped with a full Birmingham hallmark inside the shank, confirming that it is made from solid 18ct Gold and that it was assayed in 1891; the hallmark is still clear although wear is evident, as shown.Overall this fine quality ring, which weighs 4.6 grams, is in great condition with only wear, commensurate with age. As shown there is an inscription inside the shank dating from 1893, which is now indistinct. The ring comes in it's original box with a good hinge & push button clasp that still works perfectly.”
