The Moomins were created many decades ago by Tove Jansson and to this day remain steeped in nostalgia and joy.  In total there were nine books that were released along with five picture books and also a comic strip that were all released between 1945 and 1993.  The success and love of the characters was then furthered through a television series that brought joy to children and adults alike.

You can now see the joy of the Moomins brought to life on this beautifully crafted wooden tray made from fine Birch wood that is specially selected to have a smooth grain and be free of any knots.  It’s durable and ideal for its purpose as well as being easy to wipe clean.

The illustration is in nostalgic black and white and depicts one of your favourite moomins diving deep down below the surface of the lake in Moomin Valley, with rocks, sea life and even fish all within the picture.  It’s almost too nice to ever actually put your plate or cups on top of

Opto Design develops and markets quality design products with images and motifs from wellknown illustrators and strong brands / designs. The products are handmade and manufactured exclusively in Sweden.

The company's founder has since the mid1980s, in collaboration with Tove Jansson and her immediate family built an international range of products around the Moomins. In order to develop Moomin products with high quality in design and decor developed Opto Design "Moomin The Collection" containing products with designs from Tove Jansson's original drawings.
