This is a brand new black & white folded map
highly detailed. They are taken from the OS 1:2,500 (or 25 inch) maps and reduced to about 15 inches to the mile. They show streets with individual houses, schools, churches, tram tracks, railway tracks and even signals, factories, wharves They will provide hours of fascination for historians and genealogists. On the reverse is an historic introduction together with a list of private residents from a 1901 directory.
A must for the historian, geneologist and anyone interested in local history of Batley between the 1901 and 1911 census period covering West Ward. This map shows the semi rural area at that time and it is interesting to compare to a modern day map.
