Artist: Guy Georget
Fabulous poster featuring Notre Dame along the Seine in Paris! Vintage artwork by Guy Georget!
Guy Georget (French 1911-1992). Georget’s first commercial posters appear in the late 1940s. Hired by the tourist boards, the artist produced posters tempting people to visit Spain in which you see the influence of Picasso and Georges Braque. His “España” from c.1950 has the appearance of a 'still life,' with rather emblematic objects of that specific genre – fruits, amphora. He was later commisioned by Air France and produced a multitude of travel posters featuring European and overseas destinations.

In 1990, the airline acquired the operations of French domestic carrier Air Inter and international rival UTA – Union des Transports Aériens. Air France served as France's primary national flag carrier for seven decades prior to its 2003 merger with KLM.
