I have for auction this stunning and most unusual pair of early vintage Tole wall lights, I have sold many pairs of tole wall lights over my many years of dealing, but I have never seen such a pretty pair as these before, the paintwork is original, they are full blown yellow tulips, the leaves are a lovely green/grey colour and the main sconces are cream, the overall painting has a brown dragged effect, which again is most unusual and highly sought after by the interior designers for the french shabby chic look, the overall condition is very good for early vintage tole, the faux candle sconces are nibbled at the tops, but I feel this emphasizes their age and adds charm to this stunning pair of wall lights, they came to me through a house clearance here in the South of France and they have obviously been treasured, they are wired for use, but with all second hand electrical items, it is always wise to have the wiring checked before use, they are designed to take standard edison screw type bulbs, the wall lights measure max height approx 12" or 30cms by 10.5" or 27cms wide, they would stand off the wall approx 6" or 15cms. These beautiful tulip wall lights will look fabulous in a modern or antique interior and I am certain they will be much admired.
