This auction is for my VW Taro (Toyota Hilux) 4 Berth Frankia Coachbuilt Motorhome

It is very likely that you have not seen one of these before....

Last year I looked everywhere for a quality motorhome for under £7,500 that could sleep 4 in comfort and provide toilet/shower/washing/cooking facilities, good storage, decent living area and fridge/freezer to take my family away on hoilday and weekend escapes. It also had to fit in a standard parking bay. I love VW Campers, very cool but they didn't offer everything that I looking for. I looked at many motorhomes/campervans only to find many were suffering from dampness, rust and I was about to give up when I came across this little gem. It ticked all the boxes and some! It even has a VW badge : )

What is a VW Taro?

In January 1989, VW introduced a 1 ton pick up truck called the VW Taro to compliment the half ton caddy pick up. The Taro was a product of badge engineering; it was a rebadged Toyota Hilux, fully engineered and designed by Toyota. The two companies came together to solve each other's problems; VW at the time did not have a 1 ton pick up and Toyota wanted a share of the European 1 ton market!

I don't get to use it as much as I thought I would (work gets in the way) so this really is a reluctant sale and viewing is highly recommended - you will not be disappointed.

With the base vehicle being a Toyota Hilux you'll have no problem with finding parts; these are available all over the world.

The 2.4 diesel engine pulls very well and provides good fuel economy (will cruise at 60mph).

The living area is insulated with no dampness and the floor is aluminium on steel!

I would describe the condition inside and out as good; there are some aged related wear, marks, dents etc but these are just cosmetic.

It can sleep four adults in comfort in the cabin (double bed) and overcab bed (King size)

It has done approximately 62,291 miles (100248kms).
