Seller notes: “A pre-owned Unitron model 740 telescope, with wooden case complete with handle and two latches and ... “A pre-owned Unitron model 740 telescope, with wooden case complete with handle and two latches and internal braces. The handle is showing some age and is tattered in places. The case outer shows scuffs scratches chipped out sections of veneer soiling spots ect. No cracks and it is solid still with nothing loose in terms of the joints. This looks to be not complete, besides a owners or operation manual missing, the scope shade or lens hood is not present nor the cap piece for it. The tube shows no obvious dents, it has some scuff/discoloration marks on it though and I suspect most of those will clean off with wax or another agent. Threading is good on the hood/shade end and the knob on the other end turns nicely through its motion. The objective lens shows two chip spots, which you can see in photos. No corresponding marks on the collar it sits in so not sure how those came about. The tripod legs appear to be not warped and straight. See below for further details.”
