I consider this piece to be in excellent condition.

The inner steel thread is tanged into the turned and polished ox bone handle grip. The upper section of the shaft tang is fitted with a steel ring. The face of the corkscrew is mounted with the maker's embossed trade badge.

Good Georgian corkscrew. The handle is Rosewood. The brass fitting moves up to the top of the shaft and down to top of worm. Length from top of handle to tip of worm is 5 ins.

Lead Words. The other side is marked “Guillermo vonzur Gathen, Solingen”. The main blade is marked at the base “G. mo vonzur Gathen, Solingen.The nipper’s lever opens automatically by depressing the small catch at the end, and also self-locks when closing.

Late 19th century 2-tool folding bow corkscrew with a button hook. There is a strong hinge action and a nice snap. There is very light surface rust consistent with age and the item is in excellent condition.

LOT 7 An unusual roundlet style corkscrew, I found this info on the net. I have never seen this particular design before with the tool holder at the end. I think it's quite rare. for his patent 362,132 granted October.

Marked on the handles “Patend July 1873 – W. J. (faded) Schlesinger & Co. A bit stiff through lack of use, bur perfectly functional with a good grip. This type of champagne tap can also be used as a corkscrew.
