Small casket fabric covered with woven silver thread trim. The outside is silk satin in cream (this has discoloured with age). I sent photos to the Victoria & Albert museum and they said that the silver thread trim and fabric dates from the late 18th early 19th century.

This is a stunning large antique French glass casket dating from the 1800's. It would certainly add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a boudoir. The casket has thick bevelled glass to the 4 sides and the lid.
