PC Desktops and All in One Computers
There are a wide range of PC desktops and all in one computers available to choose from, depending on your own computing requirements.
Differences between a desktop PC and all in one computers
A desktop PC is the traditional style computer where the main computer workings are housed in their own casing, which can either be the upright tower style or the horizontal desktop style. A separate computer monitor needs to be attached to this style of computer in order to be able to use it.
All in one computers feature the internal working housed within a unit that also incorporates the monitor screen. These can be useful if you wish to save space on your desk surface or if you prefer the look of this type of machine, which can appear to be more stylish than the conventional arrangement. All in one computers may also include speakers within their body, so you dont have to attach separate computer speakers (again, another possible space saving feature.)
Types of desktop PC
The main items you may wish to consider when choosing a desktop PC or all in one computer are the operating system and the capacity of things such as on board storage memory, RAM memory and processor speed.
Windows computers are the most common type of operating system to use, with Windows 10 being the current version, though you can still purchase Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines.
On board memory will range from 128 Gb right up to 2Tb computers and beyond. RAM and processor speeds will be from 2Gb to 32Gb and more for RAM, or 1.33 GHz to 2.66 GHz and higher for processor speeds. In both cases, the larger the number, the more powerful the machine.
Screen size is something youll want to consider for your all in one computer, with a wide range of possibilities from 15 inches up to 28 inches and beyond, depending on the amount
of space you have available for the machine.
