Pentax became a part of the digital camera market in 1997. They produce a wide range of digital camerassuitable for a variety of different photography requirements such as waterproof and super zoom models.

Pentax digital cameras are compact, lightweight and easily portable. They have fixed and interchangeable lenses and incorporate a wide range of functionality.

The Pentax range

Pentaxs KP digital SLR camera is slim, compact and weatherproof. It features a 24MP APS-C CMOS sensor and 5 axis image stabiliser. The 3" TFT colour LCD display can tilt and has Pixelshift resolution. The camera delivers high-resolution images and incorporates sensor shift SR II to ensure optimum compensation effect for all lenses and built in shake reduction to ensure you capture the perfect image. The camera has 67 sealing parts applied to the control buttons and dials, covers and exterior joints making it ideal for use outdoors and in all weather conditions.

Pentax K-1 is the flagship of the K-series digital cameras range. It has been designed with a 35mm full frame CMOS image sensor that ensures extremely high image quality. It also has 36.4 effective megapixels and a Prime IV imaging engine to process higher resolution images. The camera has been built with a watertight body to prevent water and dust entering the interior so you can be sure it will remain safe in wet conditions. The Pentax K-1 has also has an in-body shake reduction system to help with camera shake caused by horizontal and vertical shift. This feature really helps to enhance the image quality so you can capture crisp and clear images.

Pentax K-50 digital camera is not quite as advanced as the K-1 but still offers a fantastic range of features. The camera and lens are water resistant and has a total of 81 seals to ensure it can withstand water and dust. If you want to take a burst of photos the K-50 is the ideal camera as it comes equipped with a continuous shooting feature with a frame rate of up to 6 frames per second.

Other features of the Pentax range of cameras include vari-angle LCD monitors, smartphone support, AA filter-less technology, WiFi, GPS and cold-proof performance down to -10 degrees centigrade. An accelerator unit performs high-level processing with the PRIME MIII imagining engine for super-high-sensitivity photography. The Hybrid AF system couples with Live View autofocus operation and there is a phase-matching AF sensor on the image sensors surface, optimising the AF system for high-speed AF focusing.
