This table is a dour de force of carving, every single piece of detail you can see has been hand carved and inlaid, it must have taken hundreds of hours to complete. The body is solid rosewood as you can see, you then have boxwood, yew, mahogany and a couple others I can’t identify inlaid all over.
UNUSUALLY EXTENDS BY OPENING THE TOP TO REVEAL A EBONISED EXTENSION THAT ROTATES INTO PLACE. STANDING ON STRAIGHT LEGS UNITED BY STRETCHERS.
