Sony SD Camera Memory Card

An SD Card (Secure Digital Card) is a small, very mobile memory card commonly used in devices such as phones, cameras and computers. As a Sony SD camera memory card has no moving parts, it is a fast and safe way to store data of all kinds, including but not limited to movies, music and photos.

Size

There are three sizes of SD card available: 32 x 24mm, 21.5 x 20mm and 11 x 15mm. The size you pick will mostly depend on your digital camera . Most cameras accept only a certain size of SD card. If this is the case, you can fit small cards into larger slots with an adapter.

Speed

There are several different speeds available for SD cards. The six 'classes' are Class 2, Class 4, Class 6, Class 10, U1 and U3 from slowest to fastest. If the card has multiple speeds, it means that its lower speed is for old devices and higher speed is for devices able to function at that rate.

Slower camera memory cards are better for still photos, audio files and on occasion low resolution videos that are quite short. Faster cards are better for high resolution, longer videos and very high quality photos.

Storage size

Usually ranging from 4GB to 128GB in size, SD camera memory cards have a massive variety in terms of choice. 4GB SD cards are a great, inexpensive option for those in need of storage for a few document folders or a stash of images. For videos and other, larger, media you will need larger storage sizes.

Why buy Sony?

Buying a branded SD card is a good choice, because it will handle data that will be valuable both in terms of raw monetary value and as a symbol of time and effort expended. Many discount cards may easily become corrupted, as they are not subjected to the same safety and performance standards as many branded devices.
