Unbranded Mobility Handles & Grab Rails

Unbranded Mobility Handles and Grab Rails

Although they are mostly used in the bathroom and toilet, unbranded mobility handles and grab rails can be used all around the home to help those having issues with mobility get around safely. They provide extra support and confidence for anyone who is unsteady or has problems with balance.

Most grab rails must be securely attached to a wall, and it's also possible to buy a floor to ceiling rail if necessary. The type of support you need will of course depend upon the situation and the upper body strength of the person who needs the rail. A combination of vertical and horizontal rails can be helpful for some people.

Grab rails are helpful when someone needs extra support, giving them something physical to push or pull against when they stand up, and to help them steady themselves when they sit down. They can also be useful for providing a firm grip when changing positions, or for balance while they are standing up, walking or getting dressed.

Mobility handles and straight grab rails can be bought in a wide range of sizes to suit the room you need them in, and the person who will be using them. Basic stainless steel or plastic grab bars are suitable for most homes and are easily attached to a wall, giving peace of mind and extra support where it's needed. Some bathroom grab rails can even double up as towel rails, so they are ideal for smaller bathrooms where there isn't much room for a separate rail.

If you live in a rented property or would rather not attach a grab rail to the wall permanently, there are suction fitted mobility handles and grab rails that can be held in place with a simple suction pad at each end. Available in different finishes, mainly chrome or white, these useful fixings need no tools, screws, glues or fixings to attach to where they are needed. They have extremely strong suction cups which lock tightly onto tiles, glass or smooth nonporous surfaces. They are easy to remove too, making them perfect for travelling or visiting family. Whilst these are more convenient, they are not as stable as those drilled into a wall and it is recommended you use with care.
