Add some New South Wales Australian stamps to your collection

Whether you're a keen philatelist with a large collection or you're just starting out, this range of New South Wales Australian stamps is sure to have something that catches your eye. If you're a keen historian, look out for Victorian stamps from New South Wales, or even used New South Wales stamps that are still attached to their original correspondence.

Original New South Wales stamps

New South Wales was one of the first areas of Australia settled by Europeans, and a postal service in the region was up and running as early as 1803. The first stamps appeared in the colony in 1850 and are known as "Sydney Views" stamps due to their depiction of the Sydney harbour. There are loads of variations of these early Australian stamps available, as they were retouched and re-engraved during their time in use.

One of the original "Sydney Views" would be a great addition to your collection, and you could even look out for multiple variations to build a small series of these early Australian stamps.

New South Wales Victoria stamps

The next stamp design to be brought out featured a profile view of Queen Victoria. These stamps unusually made use of watermarked paper to show each stamp's denomination, with occasional mistakes that show a different watermark and printed denomination. One of these mismatched stamps would be an incredible addition to your collection, as they are extremely rare finds.

New South Wales commemorative stamps

In the year 1888, the colony of New South Wales celebrated its 100th anniversary. A collection of eight stamps were created for the occasion, each with a different design and bearing the inscription of "One Hundred Years".

Look out for one of these stamps to celebrate this historic occasion, or even search for the full set of all eight commemorative stamps for an amazing centrepiece for your collection.
