Apple Wi-Fi and 3G Tablets and eBook Readers

There are 2 types of tablet and eBook reader that have internet access. Apple Wi-Fi and 3G tablets and ebook readers fall into the category that can access the internet using a Wi-Fi broadband connection, as well as a mobile phone connection via the 3G network. (The other type only allows connection via Wi-Fi, without a 3G mobile network connection).

The advantages of being able to go online via both Wi-Fi and 3G are obvious. For instance, where there is no Wi-Fi signal that you can connect to (either because you're out of range of your home connection or there is no public connection available), you can still access the internet through your Apple machine by connecting to a mobile network (subject to having a suitable mobile network account).

Some types of Apple tablets and eBook readers

There are 2 main differences in the range of Apple Wi-Fi and 3G tablets available. One is the version of the machine, with 1st generation models still being perfectly usable, right up to the current incarnation. The other difference is in the size of the tablet, with the iPad Mini being a smaller version of its larger cousin.

Other differences include the colour of the device, with black, silver of the Apple signature colour, white, being the main options, depending on your own preference.

You can also find Apple tablets that come with their own cases for protection. Some of these feature an in-built keyboard, which you can plug into the iPad so that you can see the whole screen while typing, rather than using the virtual keyboard that appears on the screen itself.
