Available in a range of styles, Samsung computer monitor stands mainly boil down to three types: articulating arms, base stands and wall mounts. Each of these have distinct advantages and disadvantages, which will matter when considering your individual requirements for the Samsung monitor setup that you have in mind.

Monitor arms

They offer a strong, stable platform that is able to be adjusted in terms of both height and depth. Monitor arms also offer the ability to easily rotate any monitor that is attached to it from landscape to portrait or vice versa. Tilting is also possible, usually to quite a high degree, which is very helpful.

Monitor stands

Like monitor arms, stands offer height, angle and rotation adjustments but they do not offer as versatile a movement range. This is compensated slightly by their portability. They can be picked up and moved from desk to desk or to another room with ease.

Wall mount

These are used to fix a computer monitor to a wall or other stable surfaces. They offer some small degree of height or depth adjustment, but they lack the full versatility of the other types.

Sizing a monitor stand

The Flat Display Mounting Interface (FDMI), or more commonly known as a VESA mount, is how computer stands and mounts are usually sized. It is a good idea to pay attention to the size as some monitors have oddly spaced holes. The VESA measurements are calculated by measuring the distance between the holes both vertically and horizontally.

Weight is also important because a monitor that is too heavy may break the stand. Most computer stands will have their weight restrictions advertised.

Samsung stands

Most Samsung stands are pre-sized for specific Samsung Monitors, meaning that sizing issues can be avoided by matching the stands to the computer monitors.
