A Bathing Ape/Bape Hoodies and Sweats

A Bathing Ape is a brand founded on exclusivity and the ethos “something for the few, not the many”. Its a value they have managed to live up to. Fashionistas and famous rappers love A Bathing Ape (Bape) hoodies and sweats.

This cult Japanese brand has been producing offbeat streetwear since it started in 1993. It was founded in Tokyo by Nigo, a designer, DJ, record producer, entrepreneur and all-round hippest kid on the block. The name was originally inspired by The Planet of the Apes.

Streetwear thats out there

Bapes hoodies and sweats are truly unique pieces. Theyre comfortable to wear and a great fashion investment. The label is famous for its Shark, Tiger and Camo designs, but there are plenty of other styles available too, including Baby Milo and the Burn logo.

A Bathing Ape has collaborated with an astounding number of brands and celebrities, including Beastie Boys, Nintendo, SpongeBob SquarePants and, of course, Pharrell Williams, which means theres loads of unique merchandise out there.

Hoodies and sweats

Bapes hoodies are made in Japan from 100% cotton. Theyre available in pull on or zip styles, with a single kangaroo pocket at the front. Many hoodies have zips that go right to the top of the hood, allowing the you to completely cover your face. Kanye West was photographed in a Tiger full zip Bape hoodie in the companys 2010 look book.

Pull on sweats, or jogging bottoms, are also made of 100% cotton. They are skinny fit, have elasticated waistbands and pockets at the side and the back.

Hoodies and sweats are generally machine washable, but some styles are hand wash only. Check the washing instructions carefully before you put them in the machine.

Celebrity Bape fans

The label is popular with many of the worlds most famous hip hop artists. Notorious B.I.G. was photographed wearing a Bape Camo jacket in the mid 90s and Lil Wayne wore Bape on the cover of Vibe magazine.

Youll hear Bape mentioned in rap lyrics too. Kanye West name checks them in Stronger, and Future gives the label a shout out in What a Time to Be Alive, his 2015 collaboration with Drake.
