The Air Jordan Flight 97 pays tribute to one of the legendary members of the Air Jordan franchise: the Air Jordan 13. These trainers were inspired by the Air Jordan 13 that was released in 1997. Additionally, the shoe's Black, Gym Red and White colourway is meant to pay tribute to the extraordinary Chicago Bulls team that Michael Jordan played for during that year. The shoe is made with a tough but stylish black leather upper, a red leather midsole mixed with some black mesh on the side, and perforations along the toebox. The midfoot strap, heel pull tab, and high collar make the Jordan Flight 97 architecturally quite different from the Jordan 13. The ever-present "Jumpman" logo is on the rear side, while white and red rubber soles round out the shoe.
