Award-winning British manufacturer GTECH has created a range of electric bikes that are suitable for experienced cyclists and those new to the sport. There are three sleek designs to choose from; City, Sport and eScent.
Choosing Your GTECH E-Bike
Like the name suggests, the City design is ideal for commuting in cities, using assisted-power to get you where you need to go, faster. The Sport electric bike is designed for high performance and enables you to keep track of your pedalling progress on an in-built computer and LCD display. This will also let you know how much charge your bike has left and will alert you when your battery is low.
Both models use a carbon belt drive, rather than messy gear and chain mechanisms which makes them simple to ride and maintain. The eScent is slightly different and comes with 10-speed gears and suspension. It has an output of up to 500 watts, whereas the Sports model has an output of 200 watts.
Whichever model you choose, your GTECH bike will be powered by a motor and lightweight lithium-ion battery that is specially designed for high performance.
Each GTECH bike comes with a charger that can recharge a completely flat battery in just three hours, meaning you'll never be out of action for very long. A full battery can take you anywhere from between 20-30 miles depending on your speed and the terrain.
The white and grey frames are unisex, meaning they can be comfortably ridden by both men and women. They're made from rust-resistant aluminium alloy which is relatively light, but at the same time strong and durable. Choose from frames measuring 17 or 20 inches.
