Olympus CAMEDIA Digital Camera

The Olympus CAMEDIA digital camera is a simple point and shoot model with basic, yet effective, features for any budding photographer on a budget. Available at the beginning of the 2000s, these were amongst the first digital cameras on the market. Still a great choice for budget point and shoot photography, these cameras are worth getting hold of.

Features

Ranging from 2 to 8 million pixels, the picture quality is realistic enough. With a large LCD viewfinder, these Olympus digital cameras offer an on camera screen for displaying shots before they are taken. With a range of scene options, the camera sets itself up for particular shooting conditions so you won't have to put much thought into settings.

For a detailed shot, super macro mode allows detail up to about 2cm away from the subject on some models. Some boast a 10X optical zoom, so you'll be able to get up close and personal with far away subjects. TruePic Turbo processing is an Olympus developed system bringing clarity and colour to your digital images.

Build

A strong yet often compact build, CAMEDIA cameras come in different shapes and sizes. Some are very compact and pocket sized, others have a big zoom camera lens on the front for capturing further afield shots. With a polished metal design, this handy camera will withstand small knocks and bumps.

Accessories

Olympus released a specific CAMEDIA editing suite, so you'll be able to edit your photos on a PC or laptop using the dedicated software. Hooking up to your computer with a USB cable, uploading is quick and easy as they are plug and play enabled. This type of camera takes SD picture memory cards for high storage capacity capabilities. An underwater enclosure is available for some models of this camera for the diving enthusiast.
