MUCH higher quality than I was expecting. Many jian you buy sight unseen have thin springy blades suitable for tai chi jian, but this sword can easily handle other faster forms and moderate swinging. The sword is very well constructed, as is the scabbard, with brass or bronze fittings that look quite ornate. The only drawback is the dragon on the blade isn't as clearly defined as I'd hoped. Overall an outstanding product at this price point, and arrived a full month ahead of schedule.
