The case it came in is styrofoam and had broken inside the case, causing the rods to scratch up some. Not enough to send back, but I'm replacing it with foam inserts that are more stable.
The papal ferula (at least for my purposes) is beautiful and the bottom piece has quite a bit of weight to it. The actual cross is fantastic and I'm looking forward to showing it off after I work the scratches all out of it.
I'm giving it 4 stars for the cheap case & damage. Came EXTREMELY fast!
