Beautiful abalone, but again it has a heavy black stone-like backing, shown at the bottom of the picture, but not really covered in description. Adds a lot of weight to a shell that is sold by weight. Makes it pretty thick for the inlay I intend to use it for... Wish their photos were more specific to what is being shipped!!

These are beautiful abalone! BUT the thick backing material is not really mentioned. It is shown by one shell flipped over at the bottom of the picture. Sold by caret weight, backing is two or three times heavier than shell material. I got no round pieces like the one shown in the handful.
