    First of all, I was very disappointed with the condition of the front and back cover of the book. Was it dirt, black mold or both? Whatever it was, it was definitely a bio-hazzard.

    Certainly not black mold or dirt. As you see in photos, that's discoloration from age. That material reacts that way to temp and other changes.
