Seller notes: “Small Victorian era "gift" book in VG/Exc condition ... olive green cloth covered boards with ... “Small Victorian era "gift" book in VG/Exc condition ... olive green cloth covered boards with blind-stamped decor to covers and gilt stamped foliate decor to spine ... two water stains to front cover ... gilt at spine intact and clean, spine tip bending ... binding and text block sound, tight and square ... there is just a bit of curvature to covers and corners are a bit curved as well. Yellow ffe contains neat presentation inscription. Engraved frontis contains bit of foxing, protective tissue still intact. Book proper clean, no marks. There are a few light pencil scribble marks to rear fixed endpaper ... a child got hold of it (I think little bites to top of last few free endpapers also belong to said child!) ... 2 things: ... could be erased, but danger is taking away yellow coloration and it kinda adds to the charm of this one. A lovely item to sit and spend time with ... The marker for Shakespeare's Poem on "Love" has been left right where it was placed ever so long ago!”
