Volume 3 has a thin, 4" stain line at the bottom-right corner. Nine of the volumes are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. Some of the covers are shaky despite not having a visible crack. Volume 3 has a visible crack at the front hinge between the map and frontispiece. Volume 10 has a visible crack between 2 of the Index pages. Nice interiors - the pages are mostly clean with an occasional small, light smudge or stain found. An occasional page at the front has some light foxing. There are some small cloth tears at the top and bottom edges of some of the spines. Bright gilt top page edges. Overall the set is in Very Good- condition.”

The book was not returned in the same condition that I had shipped it out in (as supported by photo evidence). Prior to issuing the refund, I messaged the buyer twice to discuss the issue and to learn what may have happened. I made no accusations; I only asked questions. Unfortunately, I never received a reply. A full refund was issued for the expedited shipping label, and a partial refund for the book due to the condition issue. eBay reviewed the case and upheld my partial refund decision.
