Since it's not the original product box, it would appear it was broken before being packed. To clarify, it was not damaged when put in the box & I do not know how where you lift the lid could even have gotten damaged in a made for item, styrofoam & all packaging. From your pic, it appears someone put their finger through it getting it out of the box. If it had been damaged prior to being put in the box, I would have attempted a fix; probably glue & made sure that the damaged area was noted in the description. I'm weird like that. Does it work? Good Value
