Reconfigure these modular blocks for any length. A thumbnail in the join will ease the end cap. Keeping the end cap upwards - use a thin screwdriver blade to gently remove it. Be careful not to allow the contact mechanism to fall out. Click mate with next pristine set.
The solder pins are relatively thick. For the terminal to sit flat - standard strip board 1mm diameter holes need to be reamed out carefully with (at least) a 1.2mm drill.
