The item was described as new in box. However, the box is heavily damaged and this was not mentioned in the listing. I had purchased this item as a gift because it was new in box, but the box is not appropriate for gift giving. While the sneakers do appear to be new, it is somewhat misleading to advertise a product as new in box when the box itself is destroyed. The seller should have specified this in the listing.
