Athletes in the 2008 Olympic video game must manage speed, power, balance, and angles to learn and master each sporting event. With more than 30 separate Olympic events, the Beijing 2008 video game brings the atmosphere of the Olympics into the PlayStation 3 console. Highlights of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games for PS3 include track and field, archery, rowing and several exhibition sports that are staged in a lifelike rendition of the Beijing Olympic stadium, complete with starting gun sound effects and Chinese music. Players can compete individually or create and manage teams in 10 sports using the highly functional event roster. In the Beijing 2008 video game, the new Zone mode provides an athlete's view of the Olympics while the Olympic Games' mode allows groups of players to form a team and compete with each other. Global Online mode enables competition with other virtual athletes from around the world. Competitions in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games are complete with medal ceremonies and national anthems for the total virtual Olympic experience.
