Only a toy. The reed did work, so that's okay, but the fingering holes were wildly mis-spaced. It's a pity, because there were decent materials used, but poorly crafted. I wasn't expecting anything but a basic instrument, but it is not even that. I will use it in my teaching show the free reed vs. flute idea, but this was not worth the amount I paid for it. Next time I will go through a more reputable dealer and pay more for quality.
