Case is gold color, it is not marked so I am guessing it is gold filled or gold plate. Ornate engraved design on the covers, one side has a bird in the center. It is not in running condition. When I rock it back and forth the movement turns/rocks but it does not keep going. When trying to wind it the watch does not build tension. There are numbers scratched on the inside of the case. It is hard to see from the outside but from the inside you can see irregularities/dings in the case. It is lever set and you can set the hands. Dial is white with black print. Outside to outside of the case is about 1 5/8", smaller size watch. It does have a crystal over the face. Face looks to be in good condition, I do not see any cracks across it. Works is marked 2311721, WM Ellery, Waltham Mass. I believe it is from the 1870's era. Spring tension is nice on the face cover, it pops open. Back covers snap closed. Buying it in as found condition”
