I bought my IBM Personal Selectric typewriter from him and when he said that he restores them to museum grade restoration he is not lying, it is in show room new condition. He communicates with you through out the whole process and keeps you updated and lets you know what to expect. I know that they price sounds high but for the labor and results that he puts into you are getting off cheap!!! In addition, he repainted it in the color I requested, British Racing Green. And he was a perfectionist in the way he packed it safely and securely for the return trip. The machine works perfectly and looks great! I highly recommend Chuck's services to anyone who owns one of these and needs it repaired. I took the option of buying one of his core ibm selectric i’s along with the reconditioning service. I received the machine yesterday and waited SO impatiently during the 24 h thermal equilibration time. I just turned it on… it PURRS. No thumpy hub, no gasping clutch. Crisp keyplay. i was surprised and pleased to see that even the noise damping foam was replaced. When he says like new - it’s like new.
