The lens has detached and become lodged within the drive, along with a few other small plastic components. It was just a poor design by iomega. I would have taken the drive back for a full refund.

They were individually wrapped with proper anti-stat packaging. Everything had a professional touch to it. Gave me the proper warm and fuzzies, as we used to say on the sales floor.
