Acrostic jewellery was popular in the 19th Century and Rings set with a gemstone acrostic spelling 'Dearest' or 'Regard' were often given as tokens of love during the Victorian Era (please study the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of the item's description).This fine quality little ring weighs 1.8g and has a plain 'D' shaped shank with scroll engraved shoulders leading to the fabulous gem set gallery - all crafted in 9ct Gold. The traditional claw set gallery is set with a gemstone acrostic - the first letter of each gemstone spelling the word 'Dearest'; the ring is set with the following graduated round faceted gemstones: a small Diamond, an Emerald, an Amethyst, a Ruby, another Emerald, a Sapphire and a Tourmaline.”
