The vast, wide ... “This particular lens is in very good condition, having been carefully looked after. The vast, wide open glass is perfectly clear, as you can hopefully see in the pictures, there is a tiny bit of what appears to be coating breakdown on the outer edge of the rear optic, but this has had no effect on any of my trial images. The focus and aperture adjust without complaint. Unusually for any Nikkor of this era, there is very little touch wear at all to the black finish on the scalloped focus ring, generally unavoidable on a Nikon of this vintage, pointing to the probability that this lens has been little used and carefully kept. That massive optic has a gorgeous amber coating which shimmers in the light like a jewel. Despite the best efforts of the last 47 years, there are just a couple of motes of dust visible inside when the lens is held up to daylight.”
