If you are going to use CarPlay on this radio and you are in the U.S. your only option to understand how fast your going is to use km/h or the small digital mph native to the Mini Cooper tachometer. This unit removes the MPH speedometer at the top and replaces it with km/h. Its NOT switchable. You can set a theme on the radio that has MPH, but it is very slow and sometimes not even close to how fast the car is actually moving. Its actually dangerous. I dont recommend buying if you are in the U.S
