The Firestick has worked fine for us, before restoring to its factory settings and shipping. This was sold because we updated our TV to newer technology and the firestick is no longer needed. This is a 2nd Gen Firestick and may likely be incompatible with the more recent TV/Device you are using. If you had an issue, you could have simply asked to return it for a refund; I would have refunded your $15.
