(1999) Based on Ted Hughes' book, Brad Bird's animation opens in 1957 in Maine, with the landing of the Iron Giant. Snacking his way through a village on TV antennas and cars, he finds a power plant which promises a more substantial meal. Which is where young Hogarth Hughes (voiced by Eli Marienthal) finds him and saves him from electrocution. Now all Hogarth has to do is hide the Iron Giant from his mother Annie (Jennifer Aniston) and the authorities who, with the Cold War at its height, determine that the massive being is a threat that must be destroyed all costs.
