2010 two CD collection. Ralph Marterie was one of the last Big Band leaders to have repeated commercial success in the face of the Rock 'n' Roll revolution of the '50s. Includes many standards and well known songs like the swinging 'Bumble Boogie', the R&B themed 'Tricky' and the Top Ten hits 'Pretend', 'Caravan', 'Skokiaan' and the twangy surf guitar lines 'Shish Kebab'. There has always been a market for music that aspires to do nothing more than entertain and this fantabulous CD does that in bucket loads! 50 tracks. Jasmine.
