The time could be set but the mode button and other functions did not work. Often after replacing the battery some of these side buttons get jammed and do not work. So, after taking it apart a few times I finally got the mode button (and other side buttons) to work properly. The stopwatch, countdown timer, calculator, and other functions now run fine. This replaces an old Casio Databank that just fell apart from age.
