With due respect to your courier, be it Royal Mail or whom, your polo shirt was just dumped on our doorstep - end of story. We were at home - I was right beside the door for most of the afternoon (when it was apparently delivered) and no-one knocked or rang the bell or anything.
Use another courier, if I was you.
