Lo que encuentran es impactante: un anciano con una espada, llorando ante el fuego. Lo que les espera es la aventura, el terror, la amistad y un secreto tan valioso que tendrán que combinar todos sus recursos para protegerlo. "La mansión secreta" es el misterio perfecto para niños de entre 8 y 12 años, ya que es atractivo y no muy tenebroso. No hay violencia extrema ni lenguaje inapropiado, y la historia enseña valores como la valentía, la amistad, la confianza, el respeto por la naturaleza y las cosas terribles que pueden ocurrir cuando los chismes y los rumores se salen de control. Elton, Jerry y Brian son personajes con fortalezas y defectos y con personalidades propias que atraerán a los niños.
